The Origin Of Teamtracker.net
Teamtracker.net is an automated technology ran on the Internet, that
requires no software use. It was originally developed for accounting purposes
for its parent company Central Texas Basketball aka CTB (Austin Texas
based summer league program). This automation initial purpose was to keep
track of players, teams and fees.
CTB began having tournaments exclusively for "high school teams only",
As CTB grew so did the need for better automation. We now needed to keep
track of all the players from teams in the tournament. We also needed
to be able to collect fees online via credit card.
The automation worked so well, we decided why not use it to create, update
and edit schedule, scores and standings in other sports and sell the use
of this site.
The first customer contracted for this service was Austin Independent
School District (AISD). This contract took AISD to a new level of automation
and for the first time they were able to instantly inform the public of
their sporting events. Prior to this the AISD website was a PDF format
with no way to instantly update or edit.
This was a huge success and a breakthrough of this technology. It had
the capability to update
3 sports (football, basketball and volleyball). By spring track and field
was added and for the first time individual stats were used to compile
the over all team scores. After each track meet all the individual times,
jumps and throws were updated, so athletes, coaches, parents, friends
and general public could keep up with individual performances in real
time.
With this success came further development of this technology. Thus the name teamtracker.net was created to separate it from the parent company CTB.
